PP here.  My guess was serious mental illness (e.g., schizophrenia, bipolar), but could be CTE too/instead.[/quote]

Side effects of CTE share a lot of common symptoms with both schizophrenia and bipolar: mood swings, manic depressive states, paranoia, memory loss, erratic behavior including aggression/violence, etc.
