I don't think that is retractable. I think it is adjustable in width which is not the same thing.  That page you linked to and the gate on that page are not retractable. [/quote]

Wouldn't do it for babies, but okay for dogs and cats.

Answer:Our 1 yr old grandson did after he saw our dogs (small breed) do it. This was when set in a 52" wide passage. It would be very hard to do on a 36" doorway. It wasn't an easy crawl for him but he made it. I immediately returned it ( wish they would have repaired the holes it created ) and no questions asked refunded me.… see more
