That actually is what US Soccer wants.  In its mind, ECNL is tier 2 and is a feeder for the DA.  But ECNL says no thank you and is fighting becoming tier 2, although it is slowly happening anyways.

That is one thing that hurts our system:  no one wants to be a feeder.  It's partially a money issue.  In other countries, the feeders are paid when their players are picked up from the higher tiers.  [/quote]

US Soccer is already achieving that, even without the ECNL's cooperation.  And the ECNL wasn't some perfect organization prior to the DA anyways.  It will just happen differently.  The ECNL is already helping US Soccer by watering itself down and doubling the number of ECNLs in NOVA from just 2 years ago. [/quote]

ECNL is a soccer county club for affluent kids  and us soccer is the same.  Would be a tough call to choose which one is better or worse since they are basically the same in spite of your constant hard sell.[/quote]

Oh I'm not selling.  People will and should choose whatever makes sense to them, factoring in all that they consider important.  Everything has its place.  We were in ECNL when that was all there was, and now we are in DA.  But playing for 6 months vs 11 months is not the same thing.  I heard PDA, Michigan Hawks, and a couple of the mega ECNLs had toyed with a 10 month program for the top ECNL team.  If they did that, now that would be something. [/quote]
