DD went through it for 3 month periods from 2ish to 4. She’s mostly grown out of it at almost 5, but once in a while the episodes come back if she’s been sick or had a fever. Hers were night terrors but didn’t necessarily match the descriptions I read online- a lot of almost-lucid babbling and sometimes just inconsolable sleep-crying. Good luck.
