I am white OP but have an AA adopted DD. We live in eastern Moco and she goes to the local Elem which is majority AA. She is very happy there, Teachers all have been around along time, some have kids at the school too. Because we are both white I felt it was important she be around peers that look like her. We feed into the Paint Branch/Blake/Springbrook consortium which we are happy with. Unless it is convenient to work I would not move to PG just to be around more black children, just move to a more diverse area within Moco.
Are these kids that are Black actually African American or Black immigrants? What is the population of actual Black Americans in Montgomery County?
I am the PP, It is a mix, I volunteer in the classroom is see the kids and talk to them. Some are legit AA who's families have been here for many years and some have parents that moved here from African nations that still have their accents, its a real mix.
+1 and don't forget the Caribbean families. Very, very diverse.
