Unless you can get a huge discount from the dealer (sounds like you won't), run. If you know exact model/make you want, send out a few emails to dealers and let them offer. i buy all my cars that way.
So not the op but am in the process of purchasing a pre owned vehicle as well. Is there ability to negotiate off of internet price? When I asked for best price over email, they provided internet price. How do you gauge what’s a good price for the vehicle? Thanks.
Negotiation is always possible but, I think, it's easier to play one dealer vs others when you buy a new car. If you decide to get a new one do the following: - research and decide which make/model/options you want - research and get an idea of what it may cost - send out emails to 4-5 dealers saying what you want - 2020 Camry XLE, Blue ext, gray int,...etc. and ask for out the door price - tell them prices should include everything but tax/tags listed separately - when you get an offer, play other dealers based on that. - let the one with best one win. be willing to walk out of your negotiation if they tried to pull a fast one on you at the dealer.
