So sorry that your far right republicans are going to lose their seats - dang shame.[/quote] IIUC, Reston (or rather the pro incorporation folks there) did not want to leave FFX County, but wanted to incorporate as a town, which would have left it in FFX but with local control over zoning, as in Vienna, Herndon, and yes, Clifton proper. The politics were complicated because the existing Reston Association which has considerable influence over zoning (but not final authority) is voted upon by landowners, while an incorporated town would have votes of renters as well. So many in Reston who do not care for the County Govts approach to planning and zoning would find a Reston Town govt as bad or worse and prefer to work within the status quo governance structure.
