At least along the stretch from Arlington McLean, I tend to go under the speed limit because there are a lot of blind curves where you may not see stopped traffic (which can happen anywhere along the road when someone’s waiting to make a left) or a pedestrian crossing until the last minute. I don’t trust the drivers behind me usually don’t leave enough following distance to not hit me if I stop short, so I go slower to reduce the odds I’ll have to stop short. Old Dominion is poorly adapted to its current traffic level, deal with it.[/quote]
