Why did you move your older kid the day before school started?
Because she was hoping nobody would notice. That plan backfired. Now plan B is to talk about how cruel it would be to move Larlo after the school year already started. OP is a crappy parent.
PP, don't be ridiculous. This is potentially VERY understandable from a parents point of view. Both of my kids are at a PS-8th. We love the school but this year my youngest started in PS and oldest is going into 5th. It is completely reasonable to want to move the older child to a middle/high school charter (Basis, Latin) where they will have a more stable and long term experience. Timing-wise doing the best for both kids may not mean different schools. OP, if something like this is NOT your situation and the younger kids school feels you are not invested, or would move the younger to the older kids school if offered a spot, then I totally get them pushing you out. If your older has been at the school for years and you are committed to your younger staying there, talk to admin and plead your case.
But then you aren't entitled to sibling preference for the PK kid. I know you might want to move the older, that's fine, but then your sibling preference (and maybe spot) at the pk-8 goes away.
