I believe it. You should see the rage some drivers have at people on bicycles even when we’re fully complying with the law. It is scary. Like, that person should not be allowed to have guns, a car, or maybe even a stapler.
But since that’s never happened, how would we even know?
Funny, because the only major rage incident I have ever experienced was from a biker breaking the law. He blew through a red light as I was turning right and nearly hit my car. When I stopped to pull into my building's driveway he pulled up to my window and yelled all kinds of psychotic profane things. I was so afraid I started dialing 911 as I had my kids in the car. Come to think of it, I see bikers yelling and screaming all the time. Oh, and breaking the law all the time. ALL THE TIME. So spare us the sanctimony.
To both of you: I bike and follow the law. You probably wouldn’t notice me on the road because I stick to bike lanes as much as possible and stop at stop lights. You’re welcome to join me for a ride. Raging jerks suck, across the board. I guarantee you it’s scarier when you’re on a bike and the raging jerk is in a car. It’s why I’m scared to take my kids out biking. By the way, drivers break the law all the time too, so save me your sanctimony.
