Kamala isn’t terribly left. So is your point that she’s black and a woman and thus unelectable? Bernie’s and old curmudgeon with no real plans, just promises. Warren can win. Warren can motivate Democrats and really anyone with a functioning brain stem.
Speaking as a Democratic Indian woman, yes, this is one of my big concerns about Kamala Harris. I think that (in the 2020 election against Trump, at least) the country would elect a person of color OR a woman, but not someone who is both. Maybe it’s sad that we aren’t there yet, but it’s what it is. My other concern is that she’s too far left (or at least is projecting that she is) on race, immigration, and healthcare. And also comes off as insincere too. I agree 100% with the column - I read it this morning and felt like he was voicing exactly what I’ve been feeling for weeks. My personal pick would be Amy Klobuchar - she is one of the few that hasn’t lurched far left.
She is enough left already
