C'mon Dems--nominate someone who can motivate the middle. Win WI, MI and PA and Trump's done.

Those places aren't going to turn out for Kamala or Bernie.

Who are these “Dems” you refer to? If you think Trump is incompetent and dangerous, pick a moderate Dem, donate, volunteer, amplify on social media. Then vote for whoever wins the primary. There is no secret group in the back room nominating the delegate.

If you can live with Trump, vote for him or 3rd party. It’s simple.

So the columnist is basically wishing for a new and improved version of Hillary to reappear? Why? The country has moved left. It’s not 1993 anymore, Tom. Dude is stuck in the 90s Heck, even the suburban white womens of Ashburn and places like that are forever blue voters now. And not surprising: they know that a form of progressive socialism will be good news for their sons.

Decent housing, food and healthcare, education for illegal immigrants at the border--that's most of the news on NPR most of the day.

DACA is the only issue Pelosi thought it worthwhile to filibuster.

If you point out that illegal means illegal, you're immediately called a racist--ironically, the WaPo had an article today about how a majority of MEXICANS think that Central American migrants should be deported to their home country.

So yeah, we're gonna lose. The debates were just horrific.

Agree 100%. Would also add reparations talk is a deal killer. Signed, another legal immigrant

Speaking as a Democratic Indian woman, yes, this is one of my big concerns about Kamala Harris. I think that (in the 2020 election against Trump, at least) the country would elect a person of color OR a woman, but not someone who is both. Maybe it’s sad that we aren’t there yet, but it’s what it is. My other concern is that she’s too far left (or at least is projecting that she is) on race, immigration, and healthcare. And also comes off as insincere too.

I agree 100% with the column - I read it this morning and felt like he was voicing exactly what I’ve been feeling for weeks. My personal pick would be Amy Klobuchar - she is one of the few that hasn’t lurched far left.

She is enough left already

He couldn’t even handle a local racial matter effectively. Hard pass.

Biden Pres/Warren V.P.? Could work. That's about the only combination that will (IMHO).

True. Or get Romney in our side and do Biden/Romney . Get some Republicans to dump Trump.

Oh Romney/Weld. A winner I think. We can only salivate over the prospect; but it'll never happen I think.

Focus on jobs healthcare. With private insurance and public option. Medicare for all later (RN here). Do not fall for their triggers (race/illegal immigration). That is their hornets nest. Win first some out that nest after election (yes DACA here as citizens, yes get the racist morons to shut up).
