But, I commute daily from Mount Vernon estate to the 50 West/Memorial Bridge Exit and will say that the Parkway south of Old Town to the mansion is a mess, both directions. The road surface is concrete not asphalt and potholes are common as well as sections of concrete that are buckled and uneven. I've driven this route for almost thirty years and can't recall the Park Service ever resurfacing the road. Potholes are filled with what looks like asphalt but it appears to be temporary. And, don't get me started on the impact of the Metro closures south of National Airport and the reconstruction of Memorial Bridge have had on commute times...... :x [/quote]
