My junior is definitely worn down to the nub. She goes to a private that limits APs which has been a really helpful, but she still has a lot of school work plus her sport and extra curriculars that she really enjoys. We dumped a few ECs that did not really ring her bell going into junior year. We also really prioritized sleep, exercise, nutrition, and overall wellness. She is still really tired and ready for summer. Give it a rest. Honestly, there isn't much to do college-wise right now. We are going to graduations, parties, and then out of town for a couple of short trips before she goes to camp. College application prep is on hold until August 1st in our house.
That may not be true for everyone. At our school, kids need to have their brag sheets due to their counselors by the end of the month and the brag sheets for their teachers who are doing their recommendations by the end of the school year.
That is true. I do tend to forget that schools have different timelines for the same process. Student and parent brag sheets are turned in to the counselor at our spring college counseling meeting. Teacher recommendation requests are nailed down in that meeting for us too. Now that APs are over, they are working on their common app essay in English, but I am not pushing any extra work on it outside of class right now.
