Get acceptance and defer. I did that and it was the best decision I ever made.

Let her work for a year or two. this won't hurt her at all, and will help her understand what she really wants.

She is still really tired and ready for summer.

Give it a rest. Honestly, there isn't much to do college-wise right now. We are going to graduations, parties, and then out of town for a couple of short trips before she goes to camp. College application prep is on hold until August 1st in our house.

That may not be true for everyone. At our school, kids need to have their brag sheets due to their counselors by the end of the month and the brag sheets for their teachers who are doing their recommendations by the end of the school year.

That is true. I do tend to forget that schools have different timelines for the same process. Student and parent brag sheets are turned in to the counselor at our spring college counseling meeting. Teacher recommendation requests are nailed down in that meeting for us too. Now that APs are over, they are working on their common app essay in English, but I am not pushing any extra work on it outside of class right now.

Let your kid rest. No need to start all this until fall semester senior year. Any school they get into next year will be just fine, it doesn't have to be "optimal."

I appreciate the input. We agreed not to discuss school after the last day of school. Right now child has switched to non school mode.

I guess visiting this site creates anxiety.
