But the benefit to this is probably not that too many tickets will get issued just that people parking illegally will never know who might issue a ticket and will need to be more careful.  As it is the parking enforcement people mostly drive and are easy to spot.

With this program I suspect it will be pretty easy for someone to subtly take a photo with their phone with the person sitting in the car illegally parked not even noticing.

There was an effort the other night by a group of cyclists to track illegal bike lane parking during the evening rush hour - I think in one hour something like 20 people recored $100,000 worth of parking violations.

I usually take the bus and it is rare while I am standing around waiting with nothing else to do to not spot multiple parking violations - I have no doubt that most days I could report a few violations during time when I otherwise have nothing else to do.[/quote]
