This rebranding is part of a much larger ECNL initiative overall. For the coming year, yes, it is just ECNL, but the foundation is being laid for a larger reorganization.

It is clear that ECNL will absorb NPL teams and create a more cohesive national structure with promotion and relaxation the likely outcome. By next year the Mid Atlantic Conference will likely be split up with Virginia based teams forming a true ECNL conference with pro/rel within. ECNL needs to NPL by NPL to accomplish this but that is likely the endgame within 3 years. [/quote]
