Getting vaccinated is insurance but it is not a guarantee against getting infected. This is why we need the safety of the herd getting vaccinated. WHO has identified the decline in vaccinations as one of the world's top health risks. In your situation, I would not go to the family event, and would not feel even remotely guilty about it. I'm sorry you are being put into this situation by people who are not only putting their children at risk, but also society as a whole at risk.[/quote]
