Why didn't you get tickets to go with them or sit a few rows back? Its probably fine but I wouldn't let a 13 year old go to a concert themselves.
This is what we do with concerts until our kids are 16. Single ticket, different section, zero contact unless necessary.
16??? I did this until my DD was 12. After that she went herself with her friends and she was just fine.
That’s great that she was just fine. Most kids are. But every once in a while one disappears, and you can’t go back and try again. Let people parent how they see fit. I see nothing wrong with keeping a closer eye on 7th-9th graders. After that, they should be able to react responsibly to situations that arise.
We take our elementary school kids to concerts regularly and there is no way I'd leave a younger child, especially 12-14 alone. 99% of the people are great and really supportive of kids being there and helpful but there is also heavy alcohol and drug use so its not worth the risk.
