This is what we do with concerts until our kids are 16. Single ticket, different section, zero contact unless necessary.

16???
I did this until my DD was 12. After that she went herself with her friends and she was just fine.

That’s great that she was just fine. Most kids are. But every once in a while one disappears, and you can’t go back and try again. Let people parent how they see fit. I see nothing wrong with keeping a closer eye on 7th-9th graders. After that, they should be able to react responsibly to situations that arise.

We take our elementary school kids to concerts regularly and there is no way I'd leave a younger child, especially 12-14 alone. 99% of the people are great and really supportive of kids being there and helpful but there is also heavy alcohol and drug use so its not worth the risk.

Were those the same type of concert? I mean Ariana Grande appeals to a young audience.

Just don’t freak if you don’t hear from her. I can never get a text through in that place.

I think money in shoes is a great idea. Good to know to always be prepared.

You'll be a block away if anything happens.

You're raising your kid to be a city-smart young person who can manage life on her own.

Kudos to you. Enjoy Jaleo. Yummy patatas bravas.

I wouldn’t either. Perhaps the other kid is older?

I've sent my dd with a portable charger so that if they use all their power they can still text me. Reception is bad inside the arena.

Also, I agree with the thought that if one goes to the bathroom, get food, etc., they both go. And I like the idea of taking a quick picture of the entrance they come in at.

I am now also a person, who believes in wearing sneakers to large arena just in case you've got to run to get out of there.
