I am the PP, and I did get a savanna view room!  Thanks for the tip, though.  I know some people get upgraded or even have some viewing even if they had standard view rooms, but I figured I would NOT be one of those people  :lol: [/quote]

I've stayed at AKL twice.   First time I got a savanna view room and didn't find it worth it.   It seemed like the animals weren't out in the early morning or night, when we were in the room.
So the second time I stayed I got a standard view room, and requested it be somewhere quiet.  They put us in a room right off the lobby, above the entry way!   Definitely not "quiet."  I immediately went to the front desk and asked if there was any way they could switch our room, and she offered me a room WAY down the hall on the Kudu trail.   It was quite a hike from the lobby but we were ok with that.   The room actually was considered "standard view" because there was some ugly utility building in our view, but it was also an area where TONS of animals hung out!   We saw way more animals in that "standard view" room than in the savanna view room I had the previous time![/quote]
