I’m a 45 year old woman who has also found it difficult to meet guys within 4-5 years of my age, both older and younger. I either attract the mid-30’s to early 40’s or the 50+. And I was online. I think the mid-40’s guys tend to date down, the mid-30’s guys tend to date up and the 50+ guys also try to date down. Can’t figure it out. Settled with my current 41 year old which is about as close to my age as I have found. Don’t discount the younger men, they’re tons of fun!
OP here; thanks for sharing. My last boyfriend was 40 but we broke up bc he wanted to get married and I didn’t. Similar story with BF before that.
I’m the PP and that’s the biggest problem with the younger guys. They either want to get married or they have younger children (at 45 I have high school age teenagers). I’m looking at an empty nest in a few years and the freedom that comes along with that. I’m not interested in raising young children. And for the guy whose 48-51 year old male friends looking for 35-40 year old women, that’s what I see as a 45 year old woman. All the guys near my agre go way younger. I understand why. But I’d still prefer someone closer to my own age due to being in similar places in life. My 47 year old ex married a 39 year old. Not a huge age difference but still shows how the men his age date.
