Gosh, am I the only one who thinks mom bears partial responsibility? I mean, I know exactly what day my kid gets services. And I also know when picture day is. Because about a million reminders come home via payment form, Teacher News, and PTA email. So if picture day was on the same day as speech, I would have called the school and made sure I knew when the two things were happening because teachers have 25 kids to worry about and I only have 1. Mom could have ensured smooth sailing on this. I do also agree the teacher was lame not to count heads and from that standpoint, blameworthy since the student was not absent. It having happened, I would ask them to fix it.
PP who also had this happen. I had sent reminders. The teacher just “didn’t see” my email.
Also, IME, therapy providers often switch their sessions around to accommodate make ups, sick days, etc. and will change their schedules without notifying me. I ask multiple times about when certain services are supposed to be happening and get no response. :( If the school staff schedules the services and the pictures, the school staff should be the ones who make sure the two don't conflict.
