We did a sleepover for my DS's 9th birthday. I couldn't stomach the thought of planning another bday party. I think we had 4 or 5 boys over. They slept in the tv room. They stayed up until 11 or so, I think. It was fine. Your basement sounds perfect. Don't worry about the nutty parents responding to this thread. They will simply decline and you won't have to worry about them.
What activities did you plan? His friends seem to play fortnite and roblox. We don’t have either. DS isn’t a big gamer. My 7yo would play games all day everyday if I let him.
The boys played a bit of the xbox but I admit I intervened and turned it off. I said that they should do something together instead of watching each other play something. They put some music on and then just goofed off. I think they made up their own games and played some nerf. Later in the evening, they voted on a movie and had it on when it was lights out. I didn't plan any specific activities but I talked with my DS on putting together a quick list of options. I knew the kids who were coming and some of them happen to be great self-entertainers and could carry the whole group.
