Not really.  Minneapolis welcomes a TON of refugees so there is a sizable Somali, Liberian, and other African population.  Also a ton of Vietnamese and Hmong for the same reason.

The one thing it doesn't have is a large African-American population, but that's because during the migration to the north, most settled in Chicago.  The blacks that are here are lower-class.  It hurts everyone that there isn't a larger middle and upper-class black population like cities like DC have.

I currently live in Portland, OR and when I go to Minneapolis I am always surprised by how much more diverse it is than here. So many Somalis, Hmong, etc. I grew up in Manhattan and love cities. I have to say that Minneapolis is one of my favorites. The weather isn’t great but the city and suburbs are very prepared for it.[/quote]
