Everyone here doing these gimmick diets is going to gain back all the lost weight within the next couple of years. Just so you know.
IF is how I eat now, it's not a gimmicky diet. Nobody needs to eat all day. It's actually better for you to not eat for a long period of time and give your digestion system a break. Do some research…..
Give it a "break" from what, exactly? Does it wear out sooner like a conveyor belt if you don't put it on standby? I'd be interested in your peer-reviewed trials demonstrating that the human stomach, pancreas, intestines, etc. are optimized by being idle the large majority of the time. I've searched and haven't located any.
Look up intermittent fasting and cancer treatment. There is actually a lot of research on how fasting provides health benefits. Also, if you read up on the Bluee Zones (areas where the communities have unusual longevity) and you will see that either IF (eating within a relatively narrow window of time daily) and/or regular fasting for religious purposes are common in these communities and associated with good health.
