The diabetic level blood sugar readings were a shock to us last spring, he was overweight but not obese and actually quite athletic, but with a vicious sweet tooth. His doctors wanted him to go on medication but diabetes is usually a progressive desease where the medications do not really treat the cause. I did a lot of reading including Jason Fung and the Diabetes Code and we reduced the amount of highly processed foods in our diet, cut the breads and sugars and he does 2 24 hour (dinner to dinner) fasts a week.
He has kept off about 25 pounds and his blood sugars readings have been completely normal. He has not counted calories at all.

Just so you know.
And if that happens they will know how to take it right back off.
It just doesn't work as well the second time. Often, not at all.

IF is how I eat now, it's not a gimmicky diet. Nobody needs to eat all day. It's actually better for you to not eat for a long period of time and give your digestion system a break. Do some research…..
Give it a "break" from what, exactly? Does it wear out sooner like a conveyor belt if you don't put it on standby?
I'd be interested in your peer-reviewed trials demonstrating that the human stomach, pancreas, intestines, etc. are optimized by being idle the large majority of the time. I've searched and haven't located any.

Anonymous wrote:I IF daily 18:6 with one 20 hours fast weekly. I eat a salad everyday for lunch and whatever for dinner and then a little something sweet. I do count calories because IF won't work if you are eating 3k calories during your window. I eat more on the weekends and have drinks. Works like a charm, been 120 for awhile now, with minimal effort.
