When I was young (in the 70s), going back to preschool, I was in the sanctuary for church. I knew that chattering was unacceptable and spent most of my time quietly drawing on paper, using a hymnal as a lap desk. Running in the sanctuary would have been unthinkable. I think if you look "eons" back, you"ll find that required behavior was even stricter. In the days when "children are supposed to be seen and not heard", I don't think church would have been exempted. [/quote]
