The main reason clinics test it is to determine potential response to stimulation medications. High FSH levels are also an indicator for diminshed ovarian reserve, which means that there are fewer eggs remaining. Quality is said to diminish with reserve levels (we supposedly ovulate our best eggs first), but it doesn't mean that there isn't a good egg in there - it just may take a few tries to find it, esp with older patients.[/quote]
