FTM to be due this month so can't say how ideal this is, but seems in line based on others responses. We have pack and play on first floor with changing station and bassinet. plus a diaper pail we were given second hand. second floor, nursery has crib and changing pad we were given second hand on dresser. master has bassinet and we are thinking of getting an adtl changing pad on dresser. diaper pail we bought location TBD, either nursery or master. anticipate mostly nursing upstairs (For my own comfort, our couch sucks) but who knows. and rock n play will likely move around the house - upstairs while we shower, downstairs for the rest of the day.
Get a better side chair or something if you can't sit comfortably on your couch. I got a really comfortable chair in my family room that actually reclines (does not look like a recliner at all)- 90% of nursing was done there and the rest was middle of the night in a rocking chair. Nursing takes soooo long in the beginning that watching TV and talking to friends while nursing was important.
