In addition to being surprised at how canny some kids are at pushing others' buttons, it's distressing (and depressing) how often my DS falls for it. I describe it like they think he's more fun to watch than the teacher, because he just goes right into the "red zone" and erupts like a volcano... We are trying a social skills class. I talk to him about different strategies. Ignore. Move into sight line of an adult. Ask an adult for help. Deep breathing. So far we are not seeing any implementation, but I'm sure it's a process of awareness first.[/quote]
