Our daycare hosts an outdoor graduation (complete with caps & gowns) for the kids heading to K this fall. They request that the kdis wear black dress pants and a white dress shirt. Aside from the fact that they'll be covered by the gowns anyway, is there any genuine reason to go along with this?
Because the daycare teachers have done a great deal for your family over the years, with very little in the way of thanks, and it's important to them to have this event. Because other parents are going to care what the photos look like, even if you don't. Because you teach your kid to respect school, but respecting their requests. I think that the graduation ceremonies for preschool are a bit much, especially with caps and gowns, but I would still honor the school's request.
