What I would like to know is whether the cut off would remain the same for 1st grade NNAT since it is now the 2nd version of NNAT (NNAT II) which has a max score of 160 as opposed to 150. Will there be an across the board cutoff for both NNAT and 2nd grade CogAT, or would there be a separate cut off for NNAT and CogAT? Don't have a first grader, but a Kindergartner, so am keeping an eye on the developments.
FCPS will announce the cutoff when they are building the 2nd grade pool. Therefore, students that are currently in Kindergarten will have the cutoff to be part of the 2nd grade pool in January 2013. Again, the "cutoff" is not a cutoff for AAP Center eligibility. It is the cutoff for being included in the 2nd grade pool. About 2/3 of the students that are in the 2nd grade pool are found Center eligible. In addition, students that are not in the initial 2nd grade pool are also found Center eligible. The percentage of students that are referred and not in the 2nd grade pool but are still found Center eligible varies from year to year.
obviously FCPS has too many people with too much time on their hands to come up with this crazy stuff
