I think the character Ron Swanson was the government bureaucrat that hated the bureaucracy.  I thought his character was more libertarian than conservative.  What made him funny was he was complex.  There were these moments when his point was subtle and on target or on a personal level with one of the other characters he would support them in his way and wanted the best for them.[/quote]
