It's not 100%, but yes very high! Too many know it all types that live in a microcosm. Similar to Hollywood. Their world news comes from Huffpuff, CNN, Vanity Fair etc. They refer to many states "as fly over" because that's the vacuum they live in.

Myself I like a mixed bag of nuts because I can get along with most people and enjoy different viewpoints. I find that well grounded people can agree to disagree, and still get be friends.

You can’t change him. Is he an introvert? Maybe it’s the combination of so many things that are opposite of your personality.

Anyway, my mom was paranoid about everything so a certain amount of it was passed down to me and my siblings. I shred everything, I won’t get Echo, I am friendly but cautious about getting too close to co-workers etc., I won’t put identitying stickers on my car. My DH accepts that is how I am. The only thing I’ve been able to see his point is I will open windows during the day if someone is on that level of the house (for low windows) to get a cross breeze. The funny thing is one time when I was at my Aunt’s house the open window thing came up and my uncle by marriage and my DH were commiserating - it’s definitely a family thing.

I think the character Ron Swanson was the government bureaucrat that hated the bureaucracy. I thought his character was more libertarian than conservative. What made him funny was he was complex. There were these moments when his point was subtle and on target or on a personal level with one of the other characters he would support them in his way and wanted the best for them.

We have 2 Google homes in my house thanks to my husband (for them for free with his job at Verizon) and I’m 100% convinced they are spying on us.

He does t sound bad. I am sort of like him. I live in the city because I have a good job that supports my family and we both have good careers. But I like the country. I grew up riding horses and taking care of them. First job was delivering hay, working on a farm. I drive a truck still, like to do outdoor stuff but also like going out with my wife for nice dinners and stuff. I am naturally skeptical of government and don’t trust big governments advocates or supporters. I like to push heavy iron in the gym and take my kids out camping and to the horse farm. If I could do all this stuff and live out in the country I would. I just can’t. And there is something about a beautiful woman in tight jeans and boots that can ride that makes me fall hard for her.

Why would you assume he works for the govt? OP said nothing about that.

And yes, the govt absolutely IS spying on you. On everyone. Every single email you get has been scanned, every phone call you make is monitored, logged, revoked and stored by the NSA. The fact that it's all automated as opposed to actual people listening doesn't mean it's not spying.
