I have to post this update as a woman who finally got some clear answers. I live in MD and work for the Fed Govt in DC. My employers insurance does not cover IVF treatments or any of the injectable medications. After taking out a loan for my first IVF treatment and my cycle being cancelled I decided to take a different route this time around. I cancelled my federal government insurance and purchased coverage through the MD Health Exchange. I currently have CareFirst Blue Cross with a monthly payment of $490 and IVF is covered at 100%. No only that my injectable medications were denied at first but after providing information to the insurance company of my stave 4 endometriosis and my history of infertility my claim was approved. My medications went from almost 3k to 145$ out of pocket. I used Acaria Specialty Pharmacy instead of Carefirst because they are cheaper and accept all of the discounts available i.e. Design Rx, First Steps & Compassionate Care. If you are taking Follostim, Ganirelex or HCG I highly recommend that you apply for these discount programs as they can completely eliminate your high copays. I sincerely hope someone finds this information helpful. Goodluck to you all!!!
