DH and I don't fight in public at all so there is no opportunity for anything dramatic like abandoning each other at an airport or party. We're both pretty sensitive and very proud so we do everything we can to talk things out rather than fight and never in front of anyone else. Otherwise feelings get hurt and a wounded pride means someone is going to dig in their heels to try and save face and the disagreement will never get settled. The one couple I know that fights in public do it as a performance, they like the attention. It was obnoxious when they did this at 23 years old, now that we're in our 30s, it's just pathetic.
