PP here. I hope so. Any ideas why my DD could get a 130 WISC but a 123 CogAT? and 118 NNAT? 2 bad days???? 1 lucky day??? Her GBRS in K and 1st were 14 both times.
NNAT and CogAT both reward convergent thinking as well as executive function (staying focused, staying organized, keeping track of which bubble to fill in, etc.). WISC is a one on one test with a psychologist, isn't always multiple choice, and can accept alternate "correct" answers if the reasoning behind it is sound. Children who are moreso outside the box thinkers or who have worse executive function will probably score lower on CogAT than WISC. 130 WISC should get in, but it probably depends on the sub scores. I think the committee cares most about VCI and FRI and least about PSI.
