Why are you picking this story instead of the many MURDERS perpetrated by the gang? Can you understand that a story where the victim is physically unharmed is less newsworthy than a story where the victim is beheaded and buried in Wheaton Regional park?
Well, CASA Montgomery claims that gang members are only out to hurt other people from El Salvador or Honduras Et al and not the general population. Their viewpoint is apparently that their own people’s lives don’t matter (how horrifying) and the gang violence doesn’t affect them so we should not be concerned. So, it is significant as this was not another gang or community member. We all realize that this is why the MoCo council voted to raise the minimum wage, right? In a patheticly useless attempt to stem gang violence as if people earning $15/hour instead of $11/hour is going to change everything. There won’t be gangs hitting people up for money if the guys are making $15/hour? What we need are a completely new set of politicians in MoCo, hopefully some that turn off the spigot of immigrants coming from gang infested nations. The oneszin office now roll out the red carpet for them with disastrous effects for everyone in the county (including the immigrants from El Salvador and Honduras etc) .
