I donated a 98 mountaineer one time that had all sorts of new parts on it (new control arm, AC condenser, power steering pump...), but the alternator and charging system was totally shot and it was a difficult job replacing it. The passenger door also had a locking issue (meaning, it wouldn't open). The veterans organization said the same thing, but I wasn't surprised in that instance. I am pretty sure they parted out that truck and the parts live on in South America somewhere. The organization came and picked up the truck after I jumped it and drove out of my backyard onto the wrecker....[/quote]
