Part of the problem is that people like you don't understand what you're talking about, PP. This is not a fight between Republicans and Dems. In fact, many prominent Dems promote charter schools (e.g., Cory Booker).  Washington DC is run exclusively by Dems, but it has plenty of charter schools. [/quote]

In Michigan it was a Republican governor who sold out.  And now it is the Republican led Department of Education that is pushing it.

That tends to be how it works out. Republicans are in support of free markets, less regulation in education, which is for profit charters. Dems support tight regulation and non-profits.  In fact, unregulated, for profit charter schools are usually bad. [/quote]
