I guess I'm sort of a trophy wife. My kids are grown. I don't work outside the home. I spend a lot of time taking care of my DH and our home. I spend a lot of time volunteering. And admittedly, I spend a lot of time shopping, going out to eat, and at the gym. I love my life and the freedom of not being tied to a job. I love that I can travel with my DH. I love that I have the flexibility to respond when one of my adult kids needs me. Occasionally I daydream about what it would be like to have a career. I think there are trade-offs either way. The grass is always greener...
Good for you! I think if you married your husband out of love, you are not a trophy wife no matter what your lifestyle is, which by the way sounds wonderful. To me a trophy wife is when a woman marries a man simply because of the lifestyle he can provide, and he marries for her looks. No real love, she is just his trophy for being successful because there is the expectation that if a man is rich he should have a good looking wife.
