My students were either very wealthy nationals or wealthy internationals. Most of their mothers were trophy wives. When I asked my students what their mothers did they would say, "she goes to the gym". The moms were all beautiful, super skinny, cosmetic surgery. It takes a lot of work to maintain that image. Also many get replaced by younger versions.
I have had the day dream. But in mine I am married to a man that is much older.

And admittedly, I spend a lot of time shopping, going out to eat, and at the gym. I love my life and the freedom of not being tied to a job. I love that I can travel with my DH. I love that I have the flexibility to respond when one of my adult kids needs me. Occasionally I daydream about what it would be like to have a career. I think there are trade-offs either way.
