That last part is important.  Lots of people continue to be Facebook friends they don't like or judge as horrible.  If someone unfriends you, it's usually not solely because of that.  It's usually because you're not a good audience to their own personal reality show.  Either you don't praise or like the person enough or you have insight into that person's life (that their other FB friends don't) and are aware of the contradictions to their FB narrative.

Once you realize that, it hurts less because you realize it isn't you; it's them.

(Of course, the caveat to this is that some people unfriend FB friends who comment inappropriately or are threatening or weird.  In my case, I rarely comment, so I can rule that out.)[/quote]
