I think it's more likely Tom liked her personality, and REALLY liked the fact that she was similar to him and would turn a blind eye to all his affairs because she's the same type. I also think because he's a shorty he gets turned on by "physically dominating" a tall woman like her, like in the last episode where he grossly put his hand on her throat for a kiss.
