This is so wrong. So if your kid doesn't make the team, you'll tell him or her it's okay to skip the tournament?  I feel sorry for your kid and for the rest of the players on that team that you're letting down.  Probably best that your son or daughter leave the program if this is how you approach sports commitments.  [/quote]

It's wrong, but it's realistic.  DD played on a team a few years ago that had a game after tryout results were posted, and was quite late in the season (rain makeup I think).  Not surprisingly, we were very short on players, between those who didn't make team or moved to a different team.[/quote]
