Jesus--she sounds just perfect for Arlington!! That's the direction they've been going for awhile now.
I love a Club actually spilling legit dirt. Everywhere else they are too afraid.

Typically at the end of the spring season (once teams' games are over--so no one bails out early), although sometimes they've posted before that, especially if there are rain makeups - i.e., early June.
We had hoped to know before schlepping to this weekend's tournament. Something mught have suddenly come up.
This is so wrong. So if your kid doesn't make the team, you'll tell him or her it's okay to skip the tournament? I feel sorry for your kid and for the rest of the players on that team that you're letting down. Probably best that your son or daughter leave the program if this is how you approach sports commitments.
It's wrong, but it's realistic. DD played on a team a few years ago that had a game after tryout results were posted, and was quite late in the season (rain makeup I think). Not surprisingly, we were very short on players, between those who didn't make team or moved to a different team.

She's a good coach on paper.
She's mean at heart. But she's coaching young children. She runs the program like she's running Ajax - in fact she quoted that during one of her team parents meetings.
One year her 11/12 year old 'red' team (the B team) lost a bunch of their games. What she ended up doing was she cut all the smaller sized kids to the 'C' team. You know, like it was their fault. And like losing some games at U11 was a big deal. She talks about it being about development but her teams have as many physically large girls that she can find it seems.
That year the player critiques she writes - again pages and pages of criticisms- included one to a physically large girl on the 'A team' that detailed that she/the girl was only on that team because she was physically big but that she 'had no talent'. That girl's mom threw it in the trash can but she told the other parents (not the girl).
She pits the kids against each other, threatening to cut them or to cut them down a team, to increase their work rate.
Could go on and on but it's late - have fun!
Oh, and if anyone has a problem with me writing this I saved all of my Karen correspondence. It' was just too priceless to not save it.
But she's a good coach. stoddert had her running their programs for years.

Anonymous wrote:I assume some of you were at the Stoddert travel tryouts today. Can anyone give a sense of how turnout was (such as how many players for each spot, was there a big drop off in talent, how many teams are they fielding at u9, u10, u11)?
My son is a strong u8 rec player, but I’m not able to commit to travel this year. He plays all the time at school with friends and with family and friends on the weekend, so he’s getting plenty of soccer. But I wonder how/if he’ll be accepted if he try out for stoddert travel for the first time at u9, u10 or even u11? Can kids come in at a later age and get a fair shake?
Also, how many teams will be sharing a practice field during the season at each age group?
Thank you!

Thanks.
They did and they purposely didn't post them on their website because they don't want any players.

Actually they really do not publish that much info on their site. I think they just put up the tryout info last week? It's kind of crazy. I heard Karen is moving to Arlington....may the craziness continue!
Ding Dong The Witch is dead and all that! What will people do for fun if they aren't getting 4 page long missives about their 11 year old DD's deficiencies and her lack of future in sports?
In true form, Arlington continues to hire every other Club in the area's rejects.
So what is the beef with that coach? We are at Arlington.

Guess she was not fired and left on her own free will? None of that sounds good though.
She will be coaching U13 and U16 in Arlington. Top teams.
