I don't feel judgement or even discomfort from my brother, but when I told him something along the lines of "I think SIL might be upset about..." he said they both didn't approve of it but it was just a week and they believed in bringing family together blah blah blah.
It's just sad to be there not because they truly enjoy us but because they have some principles they want to exercise.[/quote]

Well, then, I don't really see what you're complaining about. They're making an effort, meeting you more than halfway actually, because they love you and think family is important. What more do you want???
