What a crazy policy. One neighborhood is zoned to two neighborhood schools, and has guaranteed admittance to two different choice programs? So yes, you're cool for this year but I would not expect anyone living in Nauck to have the same options they do now for the following year. [/quote]

Yeah, I agree it is crazy. I am not sure what the policy is, but I think it has something to do with the traditional class at Drew being so small due to the Montessori program. I expect it to change once they move the Montessori to Henry.

I think Nauck only has guaranteed admission to one choice program though. They don't have guaranteed admission to the Montessori program if that is what you are thinking. At least not as far as I know! [/quote]

That is what I'm thinking. Maybe not guaranteed, but they do have preference in the lottery. At least, they have preference for the Pre-K Montessori program, and then those kids have guaranteed acceptance into the Montessori ES, right? So it's a more involved preference, but still one based on neighborhood. [/quote]

Oh, okay interesting. We didn't look into public preschool so I am not really aware of how that works. Interesting. I guess we kind of lucked out for all the bashing everyone does of Nauck, there are some perks :) [/quote]
