[quote=Anonymous]Funny, I got a call from the House and it was for a telephone town hall this evening. You could just listen in on the line and if you had a question, you hit*3. Actually, it was pretty impressive. She talked about repeal and replace, investigating Trump/Putin/Russia stuff, infrastructure, taxes.
I took part in a Comstock Town Hall meeting on Obamacare via phone. There were 6,000 constituents on the line from all parties and walks of life asking questions about Obamacare and when might it go away and what to expect in the meantime and in the future. There were 6,000 - 12,000 callers in and out for over two hours. A lot of voices were heard. It was a very productive call. I think this is the future for Town Halls. It's well known that the liberals will try to protest and destroy every town hall held by a Rep. during the next few years all to get photos of a protest and riot. Why play that game when you can reach out by conference phone and get 6000 constituents regularly throughout the week on various topics? That makes a lot more sense than for Barbara or other Congressmen to go to a Townhalls and have to face the ugly liberals, their signs and rioting. That's the liberal attack - to use this Congressional recess - as a means to attack the Republican Congressmen and women who might be home. The OP of this thread is one of those working for the liberals: to get the constituents riled up about crying for Town Halls in this district (since we are going into Congressional recess) because the libs then show up with ugly signs, protests, and they film all of that. Barbara is beating OP at her own game by holding the 6,000+ townhalls by phone. Brilliant! The telephonic Townhalls work better, too, because you can hear everything your Congresswoman is saying, you can beep in to ask questions. You can clearly hear other peoples' comments. You can ask multiple questions. everyone can hear everyone else. It works much better and reaches far more constituents than the old tired Town Hall meeting.
